Installation

  • If you purchase new software instead of 'renewing' there is a chance, if you install the new one,  you will shorten your current subscription and start over with your new one. To keep that from happening try to install new software as close to the end of the subscription as possible if you want to continue usingthe time left on it.
  • If you renew you can still have problems if you current subscription has run out and you were without current updates for even a few hours.
Always let the update run as the first thing when you turn your computer on.
  • When the install is finished, update your definations and then, if possible, scan your computer. Scanning your computer can wait, but do not wait until the scheduled update to get current definations, the ones supplied with the product are sometimes outdated within minutes of being published. You do not want to run all day with those. Most install programs will prompt you for this automatically. Do it.
  • Keep your subscription up to date by leaving it on all the time or schedule updates before you use it when you turn it on. Seriously, when you stop getting updates, your antivirus is completely useless. You might as well uninstall it and stop pretending you have an antivirus. This includes long peiods ofaving yourcomputer turned off and unableto daethevirusdefiniions file as needed.
  • Many times you can't complete an install because your Windows Registry is corrupt. You need to run RegFix or similar software to fix it before installing. And most antivirus software packages interfer with each other whn running on the same computer. Remove and Delete any other AV or similar products. Check you registry then install. That fixes most installation problems.
